WI Unions Squeeze In Raises Before Bill Implemented

The Wisconsin bill passed last week limiting the collective bargaining ability of the unions will not be implemented until the 25th of this month.  So the Wisconsin public worker’s unions have decided to pull a fast one.  Forget about the fact that this bill was passed to save the Wisconsin economy and thus save the jobs of public workers.  The unions want to make sure they get one last raise in there, so they are pushing forward with raises before the bill is implemented.  So are we to believe the unions actually care about the workers?  Because common sense tells us that putting a further burden on the Wisconsin economy will lead to layoffs even with this union busting bill.

The reason why the bill is waiting until March 25th to be in force is because the Secretary of State, Doug La Follette,  is a Democrat and wants to give the unions time to rush their deals.  The law in Wisconsin does allow for a ten day waiting period, but this is obviously a political ploy.  Governor Scott Walker’s spokesman, Cullen Werwie, has said that if school districts put deals in place via the unions without the concessions included in the bill that there will be “mass layoffs.”
