Norway Attack Shines Light On War With Islam

Who can understand the mind of a terrorist?  Terrorists are evil with little regard for life.  The story developing around the heinous attack in Norway that left 93 people dead and several more injured does not make sense to me.  If someone is anti-government and anti-Muslim, why in the world would you attack young people?  This narrative that the terrorist responsible for this attack and now claiming sole individual responsibility was seeking some kind of revolution and anti-Muslim crusade plays too easily into the hands of those that reference those of us concerned about Islamic Jihad and Sharia as Islamophobes.  Who conducts a one man revolution?  Janet Nappy Napalitano must be wetting herself over this since she has long tried to portray tea partiers and the like as right wing extremists.  And I find it curious that the mainstream media came forward intitally reporting this as an Islamic attack and presented the public with a letter claiming responsibility that was later mysteriously retracted.

Regardless of whether this has Islamic Jihad connections or not, I am disgusted by this heinous act and decry these kinds of acts of violence.  They accomplish nothing other than shedding innocent blood.  I celebrate none of it.  But I also do not apologize for assuming this was an Islamic attack since every other attack has been, including the Oklahoma City bombing that everyone has been comparing this attack to.  The Los Angeles Times reported:

Right-wing websites quickly pointed the finger at “jihadis,” and Pamela Geller, publisher of the website Atlas Shrugs and executive director of Stop Islamization of America, wrote on her site: “You can ignore jihad, but you cannot avoid the consequences of ignoring jihad.”

Counter-terrorism experts soon weighed in, implicating Al Qaeda.

Then Anders Behring Breivik, described by police as a “right-wing Christian fundamentalist,” was arrested in connection with the attacks.

Within the Muslim community, there was a sigh of relief that it wasn’t someone connected with their religion, but also a sting at being initially scapegoated — not unlike what occurred immediately after the Oklahoma City bombing by right-wing American extremists in 1995.

“This is predictable and something that we have come to expect, but it is sad,” said Safaa Zarzour, secretary general of the Islamic Society of North America. “For most Muslims, it is a confirmation of how they already feel, that they are guilty until proven innocent.”

In the words of the Illustrious One, “Let me be clear”, this man is not a Christian.  Being baptized into the church at 15 does not make one a follower of Christ.  This terrorist, Anders Behring Breivik, is no more Christian than those that attend Westboro Church.  To characterize him that way reveals the media bias and apparently the bias of the Norweigian police.  I also want to point out that Ms. Geller was entirely right in what she wrote whether this butcher has Islamic connections or not because if his motives are as he states and that he wanted to be a modern day Knight Templar, the threat of Islamic Jihad was his motive.  Perhaps this attack shines a light on the reality that we are in a war with Islam.  Perhaps this piece of excrement’s manifesto will reveal all.
