Ron Paul Is Obama’s Stalking Horse

I am completely convinced watching Ron Paul campaign for the 2012 Presidential Election that he is President Obama’s Stalking Horse.  How can anyone deny that as they watch Paul split the conservative vote bolstering Mitt Romney?  How can this be denied as one listens to Ron Paul threaten to run as a third party candidate and not make a commitment not to do that when put on the spot by the Mainstream Media?  How can one deny this fact while watching the Ron Paulbots declare they will stay home if Paul is not on the ballot?  Those three facts alone guarantee an Obama second term.

Then take a look at the fact that Obama and Paul have similar feelings about Israel – they hate the country and side with the Palestinians – and that Obama is quietly dismantling our defense, dismantling our nukes and offering up information on our missile defense systems to Russia and one sees that there is little difference between Ron Paul and Barack Obama on America’s foreign policy and defense.  Paul would love to see Obama further these efforts.  Don’t believe me?  Then why is Paul a member of the Sustainable Defense Task Force along with Democrat Barney Frank?

The Sustainable Defense Task Force was formed in response to a request from Representative Barney Frank (D-MA), working in cooperation with Representative Walter B. Jones (R-NC), Representative Ron Paul (R-TX), and Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR), to explore possible defense budget contributions to deficit reduction efforts that would not compromise the essential security of the United States.

And perusing the list of the other individuals that are a part of this group tasked with gutting our defense, one notices that you have members from Boston College and the Center For American Progress and the Institute For Policy Studies.  All leftist organizations.  The fact Ron Paul would feel at home with these people should be worrisome and proves that he would be happy with the recent cuts to defense announced by Obama last week.  The Task Force released their report in June 2010 and one of the Tables features the following suggestions which appear to be a play book out of Obama’s recent cuts and promises of cuts, particularly to our nuclear arsenal:

Table ES-1. Options for Savings in Defense

Strategic Capabilities

1. Reduce the US nuclear arsenal; adopt dyad; cancel Trident II

• 1000 deployed warheads

• 7 Ohio-class SSBNs

• 160 Minuteman missiles

2. Limit modernization of nuclear weapons infrastructure and research $26 b.

3. Selectively curtail missile defense & space spending $55 b.

Conventional Forces

4. Reduce troops in Europe and Asia, cut end strength by 50,000 $80 b.

5. Roll back Army & USMC growth as wars in Iraq and Afghanistan end $147 b.

6. Reduce US Navy fleet to 230 ships $126.6 b.

7. Only retire two Navy aircraft carriers and naval air wings $50 b.

8. Retire two Air Force fighter wings, reduce F-35 buy $40.3 b.

As we watch the Arab Spring usher in the Caliphate, the above cuts should send a chill through any thinking American.  During the debates this weekend in New Hampshire, Rick Santorum and Ron Paul had a heated exchange over an attack video Ron Paul endorsed referring to Santorum being one of the most corrupt politicians during his time in Congress.  The information in the ad came from Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, CREW, a George Soros funded organization.  George Soros also funds several of the groups from which members of the Sustainable Defense Task Force hail from.  And there have been suggestions that George Soros has indirectly endorsed Ron Paul.

One of the exit polls last night in New Hampshire suggested that 78% of those voting for Ron Paul were dissatisifed with Obama, which almost matches the same numbers in the 2008 presidential election in which 77% of Paul supporters were dissatisfied with President Bush.  This proves that Ron Paul’s devotees are willing to follow him regardless of what party the current president is a member and that makes him very dangerous to the Republicans because if he runs third party like he did in 1988 as a Libertarian, it will help Obama and hurt the GOP.  And the Paulbots do not care about that fact.  It is obvious that Ron Paul does not have the numbers to get him on the ballot, nor get the backing of conservatives that mainly support defense, security, Israel and fighting Islam.  Sounds like a Stalking Horse to me.
